Lost Country House
Interior Design Studio I Project, Exploring People and Space (INDS 110)
Instructor : Prof. Nadia Pidgeon
This Studio I project involved redesigning the ground floor of a Lost Country House in Wales as a private residence that could also function as a small bed and breakfast.
The design worked within the existing structure of the historic house while addressing the clients’ needs for both everyday living and guest accommodations. The ground floor was developed as a social and leisure-focused space, featuring shared areas for dining, gathering, and relaxation.
Careful attention was given to spatial planning, circulation, lighting, and material selection to create an environment that felt welcoming, functional, and adaptable. The final design balanced the character of the original house with the practical requirements of a contemporary home and hospitality setting.
